Product Overview

Indications

Utilizes the corrosive nature of acid for etching. Applied to surfaces of teeth, metals, ceramics, etc. during intraoral restoration or orthodontic treatment to remove contamination layers, roughen tooth surfaces, and enhance surface properties.

Applications

  • Clean the teeth thoroughly with a fluoride-free polishing paste before treatment. The use of a rubber dam is recommended.
  • Prepare the cavity as required for filling treatment, rinse, and dry with oil-free air.
  • Starting from the etched enamel bevel, apply the dental etchant to the entire cavity surface, including dentin. Ensure enamel is etched for at least 20 seconds but no longer than 30 seconds. Dentin should be etched for at least 15 seconds but no longer than 20 seconds. Strictly adhere to the dwell time of the etchant on dentin. In these areas, the time may be reduced to 15 seconds to avoid over-etching. If necessary, apply the dental etchant to enamel for up to 30 seconds. For unpolished enamel (e.g., fissure sealing), etch for at least 30 seconds but no longer than 60 seconds. If the enamel has been fluoride-treated, the etching time must not exceed 60 seconds.
  • Note: For deep cavities, it is recommended to cover the pulpal dentin with a calcium hydroxide preparation and a base material (such as glass ionomer cement) before etching.
  • Rinse thoroughly with a water spray for 20 seconds to remove any residual etchant. Ensure no etchant remains in the cavity.
  • Dry the cavity with oil-free air (do not dry out the dentin!). The etched enamel surface should appear chalky. If the tooth surface is contaminated (e.g., by saliva), repeat etching (with a maximum dwell time of 10 seconds).
  • Proceed with further treatment using adhesive and composite resin according to instructions of manufacturer.
