Indications

It is mainly used for the sealing of tooth pit and fissure to prevent children from dental caries.

Applications

Prepared tooth surface (enamel acid corrosion):

  • Before using the pit and fissure sealant, the enamel surface fissure must be as clean as possible and remove the saliva, it is recommended to use the chip or rubber barrier to isolate.
  • The first permanent molars are etched with a 37% phosphoric acid etchant for 60-90 seconds and the second molars 15-60 seconds. Then rinse with water and dry teeth thoroughly, until the prepared tooth surface shows white.


Pit and fissure sealant process:

  • Insert small black needle into the pit and fissure sealant syringe so that needle can be bent and easy for use.
  • Adequate pit and fissure sealants are used directly in places where acid is eroded. Then spread out sealant to let it into fissure with help of brush. Do not use too much material.


Light Curing:

  • Check if pit & fissure sealant smear evenly by halo light for 40 seconds or LED lights for 20 seconds, if necessary, a small amount of pit & fissure sealant can be added and then curing.
  • Light curing it for 10s with a hand held curing light that emits specific wavelengths (such as 450nm~500nm)
